Spring Showers
The boys were excited that it rained on Sunday. Why? Because they could wear their rain coats and boots, of course!
Don't forget this meant they could also play outside in the rain.

Or sit down and just enjoy the rain.

Hiking
Taggart and Daddy hiking....
Daddy watching as Taggart hams it up...

Then wondering what is going through his head.

Carls' Colorado Vacation - Day 2
The weather was outstanding so we decided to take advantage and hike to the top of Flagstaff Mountain. The adults were fortunate that most of the trek was paved!
The kids loved being in the mountains.
Fortunate for us, Georgia likes to take photos.
Carls' Colorado Vacation - Day 1
Tommy, Raquel, Georgia and Ivy Carls took advantage of Georgia's Spring Break to visit us in Colorado.
Georgia, Ryder, Ivy and Taggart were so excited to see each other. It's been 15 months since we moved from Memphis and the kids were able to play together.
They have taken playing together to an entirely new level as they explored the North Boulder Foothills Community Park. They were non-stop all day long.

A movie and quiet time were welcomed by all. The kids were so worn out.

Mountain Slumber Party
The altitude must have gotten to the boys as they decided to have fun with Mommy and Daddy and.....
pretend to be sleeping.....
Ski Weekend
After a long day on the slopes nothing beats a good book.
Especially when Mommy reads.
We had a great weekend in the mountains with the Goodson's.

Beavis and Butt-head
Anyone ever wonder how Mike Judge came up with Beavis and Butt-head or specifically the Beavis alter-ego, Cornholio? Well, I am guessing he had children. Ryder and Taggart have never seen Beavis and Butt-head but thought this was the funniest thing. It didn't help that Daddy kept encouraging by laughing hysterically.
What transpired next may be more concerning.....

If this were an episode it would probably have been named one of the following actual episode names: Beware of the Butt, No Laughing, Be All You Can Be, Naked Colony, Sporting Goods, Buff 'N' Stuff, Young Gifted and Crude, or Temporary Insanity.
What the heck is Ryder doing in the background?
Happy Valentine's Day
Ryder came home from school with his Valentine for all his classmates.
Tagg welcomed his brother home, took a look, jumped in front of the camera and then asked if everyone was ready for lunch.

Ryder skiing
This weekend, Ryder officially hit the slopes. We took a brief vacation into the mountains and rented him skis.
He showed no interest in lessons and actually asked if we would take him further up the mountain.

After this brief run (above), we agreed and took him up on his first chair lift. He needs to work on his turns and stopping and would benefit from wearing a helmet but this was a huge step for the little guy. At three years and three months we could not have asked for more. He loves skiing and wants to do it more often.

Ryder's First Day of School
Today was Ryder's first day at Louisville Montessori for pre-school.
Mommy and Daddy spent some time before school on the playground. Mommy had to spend a little extra time providing words of encouragement.
As they announced it was time to enter the school Ryder jumped in line then looked at Mommy and Daddy like what in the heck is going on.
He had a great day, enjoyed himself and is excited to go back tomorrow.

Recovery
The last week has been a bit challenging as Taggart had double ear infections and walking pneumonia. Funny, he barely walks so how do you get 'walking pneumonia'?

Part of his recovery was based upon imitating the Muppets Swedish Chef, "Børk! Børk! Børk!" and eating pretzels.

Taggart Walks
Today, Taggart is one day shy of 16 months old and decided to finally demonstrate that he is capable of walking on his own.
Well, Tagg is enjoying his new found freedom and decided to walk all night long.

We are certain he will sleep well as he wore himself out. Can't wait to wake up tomorrow and see where he heads.

Growing Up Fast
Its amazing to think that it was six months ago that we were in Hilton Head Island, SC for the Fourth of July. Time is flying by and the boys are really growing up fast.

We cannot wait to see what 2010 brings.

Bowling Tournament
During the holiday, we found time to take part in in the annual holiday bowling tournament.
Happy New Year
Breckenridge
The Hutton and Leveque family had a great time in Breckenridge during the holidays. The boys may be a couple years away from fully appreciating the mountain but they still had a great time.

It started to snow as we left the mountains (notice the slopes are barely visible in photo below). The snow wasn't great but it was definitely good enough for us.
